2 September 2004 - UK legislation relating to discrimination on the grounds of religion or belief came into force on December 2nd 2003. The Employment Equality (Religion or Belief) Regulations 2003 make such discrimination unlawful. 12 July 2004 - Chancellor Gordon Brown announced plans to cut
84,150 civil service jobs in England and a further 20,000 in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

edition of the TUC backed Hazards magazine, says that new technologies and the lack of
privacy rights at work mean bosses can monitor employees constantly and secretly, which
is bad for their productivity and health.
