Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR)

Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) has been in use for decades but the various forms of ADR have become increasingly used in recent years. The US Federal Administrative Dispute Resolution Act 1995 states that "alternative means of dispute resolution" means any procedure that is used to resolve issues in controversy, including, but not limited to, conciliation, facilitation, mediation, factfinding, minitrials, arbitration, and use of ombuds, or any combination thereof.
